The signature, wounded minnow action Rapalas are know for is no accident. Lauri Rapala identified the flash and roll of a baitfish sending "I'm in trouble" signals to predators. When he crafted the original Rapala, this action was built in, and every Rapala that has followed has been based on this same principle.

With its slight exaggeration of the Rapalas unique baitfish in distress behavior, the Jointed gets the undivided attention of otherwise uninterested gamefish. This articulated, or "broken back" bait can be fished like the Original Floating, top to bottom. It is the perfect choice after a cold front, when fish are traditionally finnicky and in a negative feeding mood.
