The Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce Fisheries Enhancement Committee is hosting the 3rd Annual East Walker Fly Fishing Tournament. The date for the event is Oct. 8, 2006. Anglers must check in at the Bridgeport Memorial Hall on School St. behind the Courthouse between 4pm and 8pm on Saturday, October 7, 2006 to pickup maps and goody bags.
Entry fee includes goody bag with event cap, flyfishing gear and useful giveaways. Entry fee also includes a steak dinner with all the trimmings (additional dinners $15). Awards ceremony will be held at the Memorial Hall on School St. behind the historic Court House. Happy hour at 4:30 pm and dinner at 5:15 pm. Awards include quality trophies, fly rod and reel combos, flyfishing gear, float tube, paid trip to Alpers Ranch, guided local flyfishing trips, all inclusive vacation packages, many quality raffle prizes.
There are two divisions, the East Walker River "Miracle Mile" division which is limited to 25 anglers for $125 and the Bridgeport Reservoir Float Tube division for $75. Entry form and waiver must be turned in prior to the start of the event.
