Well, another deer season is history! When the numbers come in for this year I think they're going to look pretty good. There were a lot of bucks taken this year, at least once during the season the 2 lockers in town were turning hunters away because their facilities were full. We saw a few bucks in the 180 pound range, but most of them were very respectable 140 to 160 pounders. Lots of nice 4 pointers were taken from every corner of the zone.
Big Buck honors for the 2006 Ken's Buck Contest went to Alan Springer of Hughson, Ca. Alan bagged a nice 147 lb 3 X 3 on Sept. 18, 2006 in the Summers Meadow area. Congratulations Alan! .jpg)
In the Blind Bogie portion of the contest, first prize goes to Chucky Meadors of Victorville, Ca. Chucky is 13 years old and took his first buck this year. He killed his 100 lb 4 X 3 in the Bodie Hills.
Second prize goes to Kevin Springer of Empire, Ca. with his 4 X 4 taken in the Buckeye area.
Third prize goes to Brian Albers of Modesto, Ca. with his 127 lb 4 X 3 taken in the Lobdell area.
