Went to check out the Hunewill pond yesterday as it's finally thawed out. The fish wintered well, and are pretty hungry right now. The water is a little low, and there's no weed growth yet. It took a little while to figure out what they wanted to eat, but once I figured out that they were pretty crazy about a #18 parachute adams it was all over, for them that is. The water is pretty clear right now and it was great fun sight fishing to cruisers, and being able to set up on them right as they were sucking in the fly. I landed 6 fish in about an hour, all from 17 to 20 inches long, 5 rainbows and one nice feisty brown. Now's a great time to hit the pond if you're in the area, a great spot to have a nice peaceful day of ripping lips. Give us a call if you want to set up a reservation.
