Introduced in 2003, the Torque Large Arbor reel received great acclaim from industry professionals and consumers alike. Its combination of a unique design, function, and the Galvan high standards of quality have been embraced by fly fishers across the country. What makes the Torque so special? Everything!

From the rounded spool and frame rims, to the contoured counter balance; from the uniquely designed cutouts on the spool, frame and drag knob, to the innovative new drag system, the Torque is clearly a step up in fly reel design.

Aside from striking good looks, the Torque is built for durability and function. Its large arbor, wide spool design ensures all the advantages inherent with large arbor reels. The ventilated drag knob is solidly detented for precise settings. Quiet clicks both in and out add to the distinctive style. It is easy to change from right to left hand retrieve.

The drag system for the Torque is composed of stainless steel, a self-lubricating bushing, and state-of-the-art, heat-and wear-resistant thermoplastic material unlike anything else on the reel market. Its unique design does not rely on ball bearings, but retains the smoothness of action that Galvan in known for. Completely salt water safe, it will continue to perform flawlessly under the harshest conditions - from the flats and the blue water to the mountain streams and the coastal rivers.

The Torque is available in seven sizes for three through twelve weight rods. The highly ventilated spool and frame will balance nicely with the lightest of today's fly rods.
